Corporate social responsibility (CSR)

Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is about understanding the business impact on the wider world and considering how to use this impact in a positive way. It means taking a responsible attitude, going beyond the minimum legal requirements and following straightforward principles that apply whatever the size of business. We deal responsibly with customers and suppliers taking following things into concern to improve the products and services we offer them:

1. Being open and honest about our products and services. Tell customers what they want to know, including the steps we take to be socially responsible.
2. If something goes wrong, we acknowledge the problem and deal with it.
3. We choose our suppliers carefully. For example, trying to use local suppliers as much as possible to support the community and also reduce the energy wasted and carbon emissions from deliveries.
4. When selecting suppliers we also examine their employment, health and safety and environmental practices. Customers are increasingly concerned about the wider impact of supply chains, for example on local work forces and environments.
5. We also ask them about their attitudes to CSR.
6. We also treat our suppliers fairly. For example, being paid on time that can make a big difference to them.
7. In return, we expect customers as well as suppliers to reward us with their loyalty.
